He is the first  African American  to have served as president, as well as the first born outside the  contiguous United States . Dara Singh was born on 19 November 1928   in the village of Dharmuchak, which was then a part of  British Punjab  and is now in  Amritsar district  of the Majha  region of Punjab .  He went Singapore   in 1947 where he worked in a drum  manufacturing mill and started his wrestling training under Harnam Singh in the Great world stadium .  As an adult he was 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) tall,   weighed 127 kilograms (280 lb) and had a chest measurement of 53 inches (130 cm).               Dharam Dev Pishorimal Anand, popularly known as Dev Anand was born on September 26, 1923. He is a legendary actor and producer of Bollywood film. He was considered as the urban gentleman in his heyday. In 1946, he made his first debut as an actor in the film ‘Hum Ek Hain’ by Prabhat Talkies . Anand has won two Filmfare Awards - India's equivalent of the Oscars - in 1958 for his performance in the film "Kala Paani" and in 1966 for his performance in Navketan International Films' "Guide". "Guide" went on to win Filmfare Awards in five other categories including 'Best Film' and 'Best Director' and was sent as India's entry for the Oscars in the foreign film category that year.            Jayalalithaa was born in Mysore (now in the state of Karnataka) at a place called Melukote on 24 February 1948. She hailed from a Tamil Iyengar family. Her father Jayaram, a lawyer by profession, passed away when she was just two years old. Consequently, Jayalalitha and her brother Jayakumar had to shift to Bangalore along with their mother.                Her mother, Vedavathi, started working in Tamil cinema with the screen name of Sandhya. ‘Jaya’, meaning 'victorious', is a prefix used in the names of Jayalalitha, her brother Jayakumar and many other members of their family.            Narendra Damodardas Modi was born to a family of grocers in a town called Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. He was born on 17 September, 1950 to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Heeraben Modi. The couple had six children among which Narendra Modi was the third eldest.               Modi completed his studies against all odds. Jamshedji Tata is considered to be the path-finder of modern industrial builders. He is known as the grand father of Indian Industry for his work and enthusiasm. Jamshedji's father Nasarvanji Tata used to trade in jute with China and Britain. He started export from India. Jamshedji started a cloth mill in Nagpur more than hundred years ago. At that time almost all the cloth used to come from England. He established the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc). Jamshedji Tata was the main person behind the idea to start an Iron and steel Factory. But his dreams was fulfilled by his sons, when they started the Tata Iron and Steel Factory in 1907 first three years after his death. He established the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc).

Kalidasa

   Kālidāsa   was a  Classical Sanskrit  writer.  He was one of the Navratnas (9 gems or the most accomplished men of their times) at the court of Chandragupta Vikramaditya. Kalidasa's works include plays, Epics and lyrics.       His play 'Abhinjnana Sakunthalam' (Recognition of Sakunthala) is the most well-known of all his works and it has been translated into various languages of the world. In all, 7 works of Kalidasa are available today. They are: 'Malavikagnimitra', 'Vikramorvasiyam' and 'Abhijnana Sakunthalam' (plays); 'Raghu Vansa' and 'Kumara Sambhavam' (Epics); 'Meghdoot' and 'Ritu Samhara' (lyrics).  As far as literacy merits are concerned, Meghdoot (cloud messenger) is the most excellent work. 

Vikram Sarabhai

Vikram A Sarabhai           Industries Research Association, a laboratory for research in Physics and the Indian Institute of Management. Sarabhai was the second chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission and the Indian Space Research Organisation.       Sarabhai's study of cosmic rays under the eminent scientist Dr. C.V. Raman, revealed that cosmic rays are a stream of energy particles reaching the earth from the outer space, being influenced on their way by the sun, the atmosphere and magnetism. This study helps in observing terrestrial magnetism and the atmosphere, the nature of the sun and outer space. He was conferred 'Padma Shri' in 1966 and was posthumously awarded 'Padma Vibushan' in 1972. He was also awarded 'Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize' in 1962. This great scientist could be credited with launching India into space age.

Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need. In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and became a symbol of charitable, selfless work. In 2016, Mother Teresa was canonised by the Roman Catholic Church as Saint Teresa. On her arrival in India, she began by working as a teacher; however, the widespread poverty of Calcutta made a deep impression on her, and this led to her starting a new order called “The Missionaries of Charity”.
